So that was it… Last Sunday we played our final show in Munich / Kranhalle and THE BLACKOUT ARGUMENT is officially disbanded now.

This last show (infact the whole farewell tour) left an incredible amount of positive feelings that it is almost impossible to speak of something “sad”. We could not think of a more glorious and satisfying ending than the one we had. We are eternally thankful for everyone who came out to the final show (especially the people who travelled long distances) and made this a night we will never forget.

Our special thanks go out to TILL WE DROP and SOCIAL SUICIDE who accompanied us on our farewell tour. It was a great pleasure to play and hang out with you guys for those 10 days. Not to forget CASPER who made our final show even more special. Also we would like to thank the best booking agency on this planet, AVOCADO BOOKING, for making this tour possible.

But there’s three very special persons without whom our farewell tour would not have taken place. Jai who was our drummer for this rollercoaster ride, Chris who drove our van and Bart who took care of our merch. You three are as much a part of this band as the rest of us and words cannot express how thankful and happy we are that you came with us.

As always it is the TROUBLE KIDS who, last but not least, deserve our deepest gratitude. You guys have always been the backbone of every road we travelled, every tone we played, every line we screamed, every song we recorded and every show we rocked. Thank you so much for everything!

We are both happy and sad to announce all details about our Farewell Tour in October / November. This is going to be the last time we’re gonna party with all our friends and fans so let’s make this HUGE!

First of all we are psyched to let you know that TILL WE DROP will be the opening band on our farewell tour. These guys are completely awesome, if you haven’t heard of them yet check out their video and keep an eye open for their upcoming debut album “The Summer Triangle” on Let it Burn Records! Together with SOCIAL SUICIDE this tour package is the best we can think of!

Oh yeah, the tourdates! There’s been quite some struggle going on which cities we’re gonna play on these last 10 dates. We simply hope you are satisfied with this selection. As you can see we have a very special guest on our last day of tour (aka “the last show ever”) in Munich. CASPER is going to share the stage with us, reviving the hardcore/rap craziness we performed at the Mach1 Festival in June. Looks as if this tour is going to end in one hell of a party!

OUR TIME IS UP – OUR TIME IS NOW!

Das ganze ist für die verbleibende Band nicht einfach. Wir haben in Ruhe über alle Möglichkeiten gesprochen und alles Optionen in Erwägung gezogen. Das Ergebnis ist jedoch, dass wir ein rundes Ende einer ungewissen Zukunft vorziehen. Die Band zu beenden ist aus unserer Sicht sinnvoller als ohne Raphael weiterzumachen.

Wir bedanken uns aufrichtig für den unglaublichen Support den wir, vor allem seit dem Release von “Detention”, von allen Seiten bekommen haben. Allen voran Redfield Records, dem wohl coolsten Indielabel auf der Welt, und den Trouble Kids mit denen uns etwas verbindet das weit über diese Band hinaus geht.

4.) Wir werden im Laufe der nächsten Wochen ein extrem cooles Live-/Musikvideo zum Song “Overweight Against Heart Attacks” veröffentlichen.

Wir freuen uns darauf euch alle noch einmal auf den Shows und unserer letzten Tour zu sehen und mit euch gemeinsam zu feiern. Diese 5 Jahre waren für uns eine wahnsinnig spannende und intensive Zeit die wir für immer positiv in Erinnerung behalten werden.

OUR TIME IS UP…
The following statement is a really sad one so let’s cut this short: The Blackout Argument are going to split up in 2011. The reason for this is that our singer Raphael has decided to quit the band. His comment on this: “After careful consideration I decided to leave The Blackout Argument. A decision, which isn’t an easy one for me but I think it’s the right one. There are situations in life when you have to cut loose from things you love. My apprenticeship and work call more and more for time, so this doesn’t agree with BOA. I wanna thank every BOA member and ex-member for all these years.”

This is not an easy thing for the remaining band members. We have taken the time to discuss all options but the bottom line is that we rather end this properly than to rush into an uncertain future. To disband The Blackout Argument makes more sense to us, than to continue without Raphael.

We want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for the incredible support we came by, especially since the release of “Detention”. Particularly Redfield Records, the coolest independent label in the world and the Trouble Kids, who we feel connected with far beyond this band.

But before we call it a day we would like to do a few more things to not end this with a crying eye only, but also with a smiling one:

We can’t wait to meet and party with you all one more time at our farewell tour. Those 5 years have been an incedibly exciting time for us which we will keep in our minds and hearts forever.
