Guitarist leaves the band

Hey there,

2009 more and more becomes the “year of change” for The Blackout Argument. After we lost Sascha in March and fortunatelly gained Eric as our new bassplayer, we now have to come out with another incisive lineup change. Chris18, guitarrist and founding-member decided to part ways with the band. No need to say that we are deeply mournful about this loss.

Chris18 about his decision: “Hello Folks, in the past 3 years with this band i faced so much impressions and feelings noone could ever have in a normal live. I got to know myself a bit better, my aims and my borders of working with a band such as The Blackout Argument.
I grew with this band and within this time I recognized that I am not the same crazy ass rocking guy like yesterday, who would take his guitar and ride down to italy to play a show in a raunchy club. I know I will be this boy again, but not now and not for the price a hard working band must suffer! Like I just said: My aims have changed and my daily grind is changing due to several reasons. Some good some bad, but that seems to be live. So I had to make this excrutiating decision.
Like Sascha once said in his statement, we will meet again, hang around, talking about girls, female dogs and music and will have a very good time together.
Let me say “thank you” the last time to my band for meeting the deepest friendship in my live!
Take good care, Yours, ChrisEighteen”

We want to express our deepest thankfulness to Chris18 for shaping the face and the sound of the band over the years and, most of all, for all the time and energy he spent. We never took these things for granted and dearly respect his decision to set a new focus in his life and to strife for new aims.

As you might have noticed, we are NOT coming up with a new member-name yet. The reason for that is simple: Chris18 left a huge gap that we don’t want to fill with ‘someone’. We really want to take the time to find out who’s the right person to engage this crucial position.

As always, thanks to everyone for following us, through good times and the bad.
